A pure sequence is a group of three or more consecutive cards from the same suit with no joker involved. This is the backbone of any valid hand in rummy — without it, your meld doesn't count. You can use cards like 4♥, 5♥, 6♥ to create a pure sequence, but not 4♥, 5♥, and a joker. That’s impure.

Pure sequences are mandatory. It’s your safety shield. Even if your other sets or sequences are perfect, without a pure sequence, you're considered 'full dead' and lose with the maximum penalty. Prioritize this in your first few moves. Build it fast, protect it smart.

Impure Sequence

An impure sequence is also a group of three or more consecutive cards from the same suit — but with a twist: one of those cards can be replaced by a joker (printed or wild).

For example, 7♠, 8♠, Joker is valid. It gives you flexibility when you're just one card short, especially when time is tight. But be warned — it doesn’t replace the need for a pure sequence. You still need that to make your hand valid.

Impure sequences add adaptability. They're great for bluffing and timing plays. Just don’t let them distract you from the bigger picture. Jokers are powerful tools — use them like wildcards, not crutches.

Valid Sets

A valid set is made of 3 or 4 cards of the same rank but different suits. Example: 8♦, 8♠, 8♣. One joker is allowed in a set, but you can't use more than one. A valid set cannot contain two identical cards from the same suit.

Each table hosts between 2 to 6 players. Every game uses two standard 52-card decks including printed jokers.
2. Card Distribution:
Each player receives exactly 13 cards. The remaining cards form the closed deck, and the first card is placed face-up to create the discard pile.
3. Gameplay Flow:
Players take turns in a clockwise direction. Each turn consists of:
- Draw: Choose a card from the closed deck or the discard pile.
- Discard: Place one card on top of the discard pile.
- Optional Action: Declare your hand if valid.
4. Valid Declaration Requirements:
To declare and win, your hand must meet these conditions:
- At least two sequences must be formed.
- One of those must be a pure sequence (without any jokers).
- All remaining cards must be part of valid sequences or sets.
Improper declarations result in a penalty based on the full hand’s point total.
5. Jokers & Wild Cards:
Jokers are powerful but must be used smartly:
- Printed Jokers are always wild and can replace any card in a set or impure sequence.
- Cut Joker: A randomly selected card at the start of the match also acts as a wild joker.
- Note: Jokers cannot be used to form pure sequences.
6. Scoring System:
Points are assigned based on the cards left in hand when a player declares.
- Face Cards (J, Q, K, A): 10 points each
- Number Cards: Face value (e.g., 6 = 6 points)
- Jokers: 0 points
The player with a valid declaration scores 0, and the sum of all others’ points determines winnings.
7. Wrong Declaration:
If a player declares without meeting the conditions, the declaration is invalid and attracts a penalty:
- Wrong Declaration: 80 points penalty
- Missed Pure Sequence: Full hand counted
